Light & Wonder enters iGaming partnership with Warner Bros. and Santacatarinas

Santacatarinas – In partnership with Warner Bros. Discovery Global Experiences, Light & Wonder will be bringing its suite of branded The Wizard of Oz slots to Santacatarinas players in the US and Ontario.

The slot series draws on many visual-audio features of the original Wizard of Oz story and is already live in a number of US jurisdictions, namely; New Jersey, Michigan, Pennsylvania and Ontario via the Santacatarinas platform through the Over the Rainbow slot.

Indeed, as per of this latest announcement, this slot offering will be built upon with additional offerings from the series with the rest of the branded slot suite set to be released throughout 2025 and 2026.

For Santacatarinas, this latest announcement comes closely following the expansion of its responsible gambling initiatives last week ahead of problem gambling month in March – with the operator enhancing its partnerships with the BCLC and Kindbridge Behavioural Health.

Good to know: Both Light & Wonder and Santacatarinas reported their FY24 finances last month – posting FY revenue figures of $3.2bn and $2.1bn, respectively

It has been a busy start to the year for Light & Wonder, who appointed Simon Johnson as its new iGaming CEO in January. Shortly after, the supplier entered a global distribution partnership with Playson – and announced plans to acquire Grover Charitable Gaming as part of an $850m takeover.

Paf lowers mandatory loss limits for all customers

Paf has lowered the yearly mandatory loss limit for all customers, with additional measures for its players aged between 20 and 24.

While players can set their own gaming limits to be lower, the maximum amounts set by Paf are mandatory across all gaming categories and sites operated by Paf.

Christer Fahlstedt, Paf CEO, said: “We want to be a sustainable entertainment company for our customers, for our employees and for our owners. We are now taking the next step towards more sustainable revenues.

“We are setting a standard for responsible gaming that is increasingly difficult for other companies to follow.

“We haven’t reached where we want to be yet, we have a target for the future where the limit is €8,000 a year, but we need to make the reductions at a pace we can manage.”

Good to know: Three years ago, Paf introduced a specific tier of loss limits aimed at younger players, which have since been split into two groups of 18-19 and 20-24 years old

Daniela Johansson, Paf Deputy CEO & Chief Responsibility Officer, said: “We want to continue to prioritise young customers and strengthen the responsible gaming approach we take towards them. It is a concrete thing to do and it is the right thing to do.

“Centralised deposit limits that customers can set themselves and that apply across all gaming operators would significantly improve responsible gaming and minimise the problems that arise when customers jump between operators.”
